From time to time Van Life Radio like to get behind and promote worthy fund raising events and charities to raise awareness amongst its listeners.

Operation Elysium '21 is one such project we are working with to raise awareness about mental health and suicide amongst our men and women in the military.

A small team of veterans and serving members of the UK armed forces will paddle their kayaks from Liverpool to London, which is over 280 miles, through 186 locks, to raise funds so that a memorial can be erected at the NMA in Staffordshire to honour and remember those who have passed away from suicide.

The route to be covered is as follows:

START 17th August 2021- Preston Brook Wharf on the Trent and Mersey canal.

FINISH 30th August 2021 - Putney Bridge, London

ROUTE: Down the Trent & Mersey to Fradley Junction (Burton-on-Trent). Down the Coventry Canal to Hawkesbury Junction (Longford, Coventry) and then onto the Oxford Canal. South along the Oxford all the way down to Oxford where it meets the River Thames. Along the Thames from Oxford to Embankment, (Putney Bridge) in London.

All advertising opportunities have now closed for this event. If you wish to advertise or have your business promoted for the Elysium Memorial fundraiser you will need to email the Station Manager direct at and discuss with him.
